Vitrectomy

Ophthalmologists usually use different methods to treat visual impairment. The goal is to cure the illness and increase the quality of the individual’s vision. One of these methods is vitrectomy.

It is a type of eye surgery used to treat some retinal and vitreous disorders. In the vitrectomy, the vitreous is removed and the surgeon replaces it with a special solution. Vitrectomy often improves vision or stabilizes it. Blood or residues of infections or inflammation that may obstruct or fade the image focusing on the retina are removed by this surgery. Vitrectomy can help remove foreign bodies trapped inside the eye after trauma.
