Cataract

  • The initial diagnosis of Cataract is based on the presence of symptoms and complaints related to the disease.
  • The disease is determined by visiting an ophthalmologist and performing specialized examinations.
  • The only treatment for cataract is surgery. In phacoemulsification surgery, by making a small incision on the eye, the cloudy lens of the patient is removed and the intraocular lens is replaced.
  • The incision does not require stitches. After the operation, intraocular drops are administred according to the instructions of the ophthalmologist.
  • This operation is usually performed without anesthesia, and in case of anesthesia, after the recovery process, the patient is discharged and does not need to stay in the clinic.

• There is a schedule for a follow-up visit by the ophthalmologist within a week after the operation.
